About us

Our Company

Test Valley Models was started as a purely online company in late 2015, selling mainly refurbished model railway stock through EBay and other platforms.
We soon started getting requests for other model railway products, some companies demanding that we had a bricks and mortar store before they would supply us.
In June of 2016 the chance came to take on a small unit on The Commercial Centre Picket Piece Andover, within 12 months we had doubled the size of the shop and increased the range to include more scenics, and diecast vehicles, as well as tools and paints.
Further expansion has been done in 2017 with the shop now selling plastic kits in the form of Airfix, Trumpeter, Meng and Takom, we are now also a Games Workshop and Warlord outlet, concentrating on the Warhamer 40K and Bolt Action ranges.
We also build baseboards for war-gaming and model railways, as well as designing and laying track on boards for customers.

Our team

Our team consists of two main characters, Graham who does all the head scratching ordering and day to day work in the shop, he's the one sat at the computer when you walk through the door!

Then there's Andy ( Saturday Boy), he comes in on a Saturday morning, mainly because he can! he helps design and build the layouts and baseboards, as well as helping around the shop, as it can get a bit busy.

Our DCC and electrical expert is Kevin (Leaford) Broadhurst, some of you may remember him and his layout Leaford on the exhibition circuit a few years back. Kevin does our engine services, and fits DCC chips for us.

Finally there is Brian ( put the kettle on) Fakes, Brian is our resident shop fitter, he takes it upon himself to finish all the jobs that Graham and Andy start, the counter is his work of art, as is many other things around the  shop.
